FAQs

 You have questions regarding Blu2Light?

Below you will find the most frequently asked questions and answers.

  • Why does the QR code light up orange when scanning a device?

The Blu2Light device is already in use.

  • How many devices can be installed per system?

We recommend a maximum size for B2L systems of up to 200 devices per mesh. For systems with high data traffic (mostly sensors), we recommend using no more than 100 devices per mesh.

  • The system works not as intended, what to do?

    1. Update the app to the latest available version in the App Store/Play Store.

    2. Update all mesh components to the latest version provided by the app.

  • What can I do if some mesh components are sometimes unreachable?

Check "Network information". Are some of the links marked as weak links in yellow or red? If so, consider placing a Blu2Light component in between.

  • A Blu2Light device works not stable, what to do?

    1. Check if the used power supply is capable for providing enough current for all connected devices. The voltage at the Blu2Light node input must be at least 9.5 V.

    2. Check the DALI lead length. The maximum length is 300 m when a lead with 1.5 mm² cross section is used.

    3. Check the voltage drop on DALI line, maximum 2 V are allowed.

  • After using a Blu2Light 4CH wireless button on a Blu2Light device, no further connection is available, what to do?

Update to the latest app and mesh version.

  • Can I use my emergency device with a DALI driver and a Blu2Light System?

We wouldn’t recommend doing that, especially with self-testing devices.

If testing, the Emergency device will cut out our DALI driver from System, this won’t be recognized by the B2L System and therefore, if testing is over, there will be no signal from the B2L node it’s own. The DALI driver on the other side has a power on behaviour of 0% so if the driver doesn’t get any feedback it will start at 0% and this luminaire will remain off.

Work around would be: clamping the power supply to the Emergency device, so every time the Emergency device is self-testing it will cut out the B2L node as well. Disadvantage of this would be, that every time it will force the node to form a new mesh and therefore it can take up to 5 minutes until it’s on again.
